I’ve never really been into witchcraft or wizardry other than what I’ve seen on the big screen. And for some reason, this strange sorcery has always been a curiosity of mine.

On this episode of The Next Generation Show, we dig deep into what lies beneath our feet by learning a critical skill of water witching! This age-old technique helped homesteaders determine where to build their wells, set their roots, and live on the land. However, this has since become a lost art of sorts.

We go into some of the history and some of the lessons we’ve learned over the last few decades when it comes to water procurement after heavy storms, industrial contamination, and urban sprawl. Increased dependence on electronic devices and accuracy of digital locators has turned this old skill into an obsolete, almost forgotten art.

With the onset of urban sprawl and technology, few have had reason to build based on the water source. Instead, access to municipal plumbing has made this hunt for water pointless. But if water sources are scarce or you’re searching for that perfect off-grid location, there’s more than enough reason to learn this amazing, supernatural skill.

Also, don’t miss out on the Pint-Sized Prepper Project of the Week, where we show you how to build and operate your own divining rods to find water in a pinch and turn your kid into a skilled water witch!
