People ask me all the time, what is a prepper? Are we what some people think preppers are? Those strange people you see on reality TV that give you the creeps or the homesteader you see at the farmers market. I guess there will always be some that meet that stereotype, but for most preppers we look more like the Wikipedia definition of a prepper “Prepper is an individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances.” Preppers just purchase more insurance to cover what each individual sees as likely probability to occur.
As a prepper how can you find your place in the prepping community, find your niche of like minded people? Do you take the chance to open yourself to meeting other preppers or do you stay alone? Where can you find other like minded people? Once you make your connections do you go it alone or do you form a group? Which would give you greater survivability or greater flexibility? Join BexarPrepper for her final show “Preparing For Life’s Storms” Tuesday September 24th at 8 pm central time where we’ll talk about this a so much more.
From the producer: It is with great regret for the network and myself personally to see our host Bexar Prepper of Preparing For Life’s Storms leave the network. I have know doubts that I speak for anyone that knows Bexar that she will be missed dearly on Tuesday night’s. She has provided all of us with a wealth of information, great guests, and a whole lot of fun. When regular means of receiving information are not available such as television, am/fm radio, telephones, and cell phones where should one go? Most experts would agree that of all forms of radio communications that may be put to use in a post disaster situation the Ham Radio (amateur radio) would be the most valuable in sharing information. We have had a few shows just recently on communications and each one bringing to the plate a great deal of information that is useful to both the novice and expert alike.
Sam Coffman of The Human Path gave us a lot of information just last week on ham radio in the second half of his program. Clear and easily understood he made sense out of the technical aspects answering the how and why questions that most may have. You can read more and listen to that show by clinking HERE. Last night, Dave Womach of The Gun show interviewed the founder and CEO of civil dispatch, an on line version of 911 and more that can send out emergency notifications through ham radio. In an emergency this could be a life saving resource even if you are not a ham radio operator. Read more and listen to this show by clicking Here!
Tonight, on this episode of “Preparing For Life’s Storms” Old Geezer Prepper from YouTube helps us understand setting up communications, communications network, the basics and also answer questions for the more advanced radio operator. He has been a prepper since late 1979 and a licensed Ham Radio Operator since 1985. He has also promised to not get so technical that we get lost. Also a visit at the start of the show with the founder of the new e-magazine “Happy To Survive” so join us tonight for more useful information when SHTF 9:00pm/Est 8:00pm/Ct. There are many out there that are preserving their own foods or are just starting and are on their way to learning the ends and outs of long term food storage. There is a lot to learn along the way and like any other endeavor you enter into it takes a lot of research and practice to get it all down and get it right. Processing food is a skill, that for many is handed down from generation to generation but it is also a skill that must be mastered. A mistake in re-hydrating, dehydrating, or canning food can be dangerous to those that you love as well as yourself.
I am always receiving questions asking about the different techniques, the right and proper tools to use as well as tips, tricks and the best methods to get the desired results in food preparation for short term and long term storage. The questions are many, varied, and without the right answers you can find yourself wasting a lot of time and money as well as putting yourself and those that you love in danger.
On this episode of Preparing for Life’s Storms I will be answering those questions. Questions like; How much water do I use? Does it need to be boiling or just hot or can I use cold water? How much dehydrated corn does it take to make a cup of corn? The list is long but without the right answers the results can be disastrous. So join us and listen in to have these and any other questions you may have answered. If you already process your own food or are just getting started this is a show you will not want to miss.

Have you been watching the prices in the grocery store, as the product packages shrink?
What’s the answer? Grow your own produce. Every gardening question you ever wanted to ask but no one to ask it to. Well tonight on Preparing for Life’s Storms, BexarPrepper will welcome in Bobby (mhpgardener) an avid gardener, friend and gracious spirit. Bobby built both his greenhouses; I like to call them hangers cause their big enough to fit a plane in. He is learning hydroponic gardening he also gardens the traditional way, like the rest of us. Bobby grows some of the sweetest tomatoes I have ever tasted, nothing like what you get in the grocery store. So let’s all come with our questions and learn from the master and make our gardens as productive as possible to combat inflation.

Lots of people have worm farms because worms help plants and other living things such as: food for birds. Worms soften the soil for the trees so water can get into the ground easier and can reach the tree roots. If you want to have a healthier self-sustaining garden joins BexarPrepper on Preparing For Life’s Storms and Paula on April 16th 8pm central time at Prepperbroadcasting.com to learn more than you wanted to know about worm farming. I keep hearing about harvesting castings so let ask Paula what’ that all about?
On this episode of Preparing For Life’s Storms! It is all about how you form a budget for yourself and learn to shop wisely while gathering a good food storage. You learn how to use your kitchen and cook from scratch, then you start using the storage you built up. Meanwhile, there is a way to save for the big-ticket items such as a deep freeze, wheat grinder, shelves to put your storage on, get out of debt, etc.
It’s so easy! The hard part is letting go of bad habits like overspending on a whim, impulse shopping, eating out all the time, and such. For some it may be learning how to cook! I’ve done many seminars on this book! Almost as many as the wheat book.
As a seasoned prepper sometimes we forget just how we felt when we woke up. With all the new prepper’s that are awakening, I’d like to take a step back in time on this episode of Preparing For Life’s Storms to guide those around us. Think back to when you first felt the tugging of something in the back of your mind leading you to do more research and eventually coming to the conclusion that you must become a prepper. It may have been as blunt as a hurricane Sandy event, or possibly it was just little things here and there that eventually and gradually led you to where you are at today. Regardless of the journey, I believe it to be important to remember your roots and by doing so you will be more armed to help other people to come in to the light of what is going on in the world around us and help them get more prepared. Remember how little good you were able to accomplish in the heat of the battle. Why is calm thoughtful prepping a better way to go, than the fill the shelves up fast mentality? What did you do to calm the nerves as you worried time was running out?
So join BexarPrepper Tonight March 19th at 8 pm central time as we talk about how to set your focus as a new prepper to hit the path running. Listen to this show in player below!
