Loner or community? Which is best…
DJ Cooper “Surviving Dystopia”
The great question seems to be do we go it alone or should we be part of a group? Is it better to create a whole community of like-minded individuals or should we just head out into the wilderness like a scene from Jeremiah Johnson? There are many questions and just as many answers to this great conundrum.
There is much to consider when thinking about this path, let’s take some time to consider the different aspects of this and whether or not it might be for you.
There are intentional communities, and just what is an intentional community? It sounds something like a punishment or something.
Wikipedia describes it as: An intentional community is a planned residential community designed from the start to have a high degree of social cohesion and teamwork. The members of an intentional community typically hold a common social, political, religious, or spiritual vision and often follow an alternative lifestyle. They typically share responsibilities and resources.
How about just getting involved in your local community by joining the local Co-op or other programs or groups who meet or train as like-minded individuals.
Can we really “go it alone” or do we need to rely on a system of barter or social networking (and I don’t mean facebooking) on a less techy more basic level of community.
Join me in discussing the different thoughts on this topic.
