This is the first in a 2 part series on “The Prepared Canadian“, where I’ll discuss the most basic needs and some of the solutions to getting through a disaster. We’ll talk about knowing what to prepare for, keeping your home ready to deal with the first few days of a disaster, and what the basic needs are. As well, I’ll offer a few suggestions for basic supplies and gear. In this first part, most of the suggestions will be targeting the home owner, but part 2 will give the average apartment dweller some solutions that are specific to their problems.
Also, I’ll be discussing a significant change to the forum and explain my reasons for making this change, which have proven unpopular by some members. “Prepping 101”. So what does prepping mean? It’s about expecting the unexpected. This could mean anything from job loss to man-made disasters, like economic collapse. So why don’t more people prepare? Our society as a hole has been lulled into a false sense of security. We get what we want, when we want it and worry about the consequences at a later point in time. So as prepper’s, we are the leading edge when the unexpected happens. We will be the ones that keep our society from not only surviving but thriving. So come join Bexar as we talk about where we started and the pitfalls we encountered. It will be open lines on this episode of The Homestead Honey Hour for you to share your suggestion and thoughts. Let’s help those less prepared avoid the pitfalls we all encounter. You’re in for some lively conversation both in chat and on the air.Listen to this show in player below.
