Baking tgivingdessert2This is what I do for storing ingredients for baking.  First I buy a bag of wheat and preserve it in gallon size containers.  This will provide you with top rate whole wheat flour.  You will also want to store soft white wheat if you want some good pastry flour (it is still whole wheat, just a different variety of wheat).  You already have a wheat grinder of course, right?  That comes right after a cook stove in my opinion. There is an old saying that calls bread the “staff of life” because it is a very basic food that supports life.  You can find some form of bread in virtually every society. Tasty dishes from foraged edibles.

Lobster MushroomHuckleberrys125This Friday evening on “Foraging For Life” we are going to go over some of the very tasty dishes you can make with your foraged edibles. I will go through what I did to process those items and then a step by step with recipes on different dishes you can make with them as well as how to turn them into seasonings. A few of the ingredients we’ll be using include venison, lobster mushrooms, huckleberries and morels. I’d love to hear from you as to what you; the listener, would like to have featured in future shows as well.  I’m hoping to put some videos together for this, so cross your fingers and wish me luck.

How to make soap! All kinds of soap!
