Survival groups why do you need oneYou considered all the scenarios and you feel prepared.  One thing troubles you, others…  There must be others out there that think like you do.  Others that think like you do that can offer assistance, others to barter with.  You know that it is not practical to try the lone wolf school of thought and you don’t know where to begin. Glen Tate and Communities

Glen Tate and Communities!
Host: James Walto “I Am Liberty

Glen TateIt seems that with each passing day we draw further from one another. I have never seen anything like this. In an effort to make sure we all get along, all think alike and all agree we have divided ourselves more than ever. The most frightening part for me is the way we single out and punish, with such ferocity, those groups or individuals that differ in opinion. In a country built upon the right to say and believe what you feel is right I don’t think this is right. Continue reading Glen Tate and Communities

Appetite for Desperation, Radical Groups!
Host: James Walton “I Am Liberty

Radical Groups -kkk-14-story-topIn response to the absolutely baffling article that came out in the Telegraph a few days ago about members of the Klu Klux Klan bolstering recruitment efforts in several states in America I thought it best that we talk about fringe groups tonight on I Am Liberty. Examine groups of extremists like the Klan, La Raza and the Black Panthers and how they can really take a foothold in a struggling nation. We are also going to talk about extremism in the 30’s and how it took advantage of a scared and vulnerable public.
This from the Telegraph article: Continue reading Appetite for Desperation, Radical Groups!

What are Mutual Assistance Groups, Mutual Assistance Associations or a host of other names? What can a MAG do for you or not. The term when searched on line brings up a bevy of entries, 2,980,000 on one search engine alone. That’s a lot of information to digest.

EfficiencyMutual Assistance is a term used in many areas of living, our electric companies and other entities wishing to work together for reasons such as economic, efficiency and productivity often form these types of alliances. But wait, we are talking about personal preparing, what does a MAG have to do with us? The prepping community began talking about and forming MAG’s around 2010 and some probably much earlier, as many saw the handwriting on the wall in that if and when it all hits the fan, no one is an island as they say, no one person can do it all, can cover all the skills. It is a proven fact organized well; there is power and safety in numbers. So surviving and preparing folk embraced the concept of Mutual Assistance Groups. MAG’s come in all sizes and personalities, how do you sort it all out. Continue reading Efficiency & Productivity!

In essence to quote my guest this Sunday, Charley Hogwood, of Ready Go Prep ( Personal Readiness Education Programs) http://readygoprep.com/website/ a MAG a is “a group of like-minded individuals who pledge to assist each other in times of crisis.” The need or reasoning is pretty clear however this same reason creates a plethora of questions including who, what, when, where and how. The Other Side of a Preppers Path examines the MAG this Sunday. Lynna has tapped well known instructor and prepper, Charley Hogwood asking him to share his extensive knowledge on MAG’s. Charley recently posted a series of articles available at http://www.livingreadyonline.com/emergency-preparedness/ what-is-a-mutual-assistance-group regarding MAG’s. Rest your eyes and tune in to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth, hear the the questions you want to know.

Survivalists, Preppers and the others, Whats the difference?

Canada 125About a year ago I wrote a post for the Canadian Preppers Network blog called Two Solitudes. The article was about a division I saw developing between those who consider themselves Preppers and those that consider themselves survivalists. Now, this divide seems to be growing. What’s worse is that there is a whole new category being added to the mix that I call “others” for lack of a better, more polite term.

This week on The Prepared Canadian Broadcast, I’ll explain what I see as the core differences between these three groups, a bit of the history behind them, and why I believe now, more than ever these groups want to separate and in many cases even disassociate themselves from each other.

Survival groupsLately it seems we have all become a bit more complacent. Do we need another major incident to awaken us once again to the reason for being prepared? Who knows when we will see another major event that disrupts our daily routines reminding us why we prepare. We will never have sufficient warning to prepare for the earthquake, flash flood, power outage, or anything else that looms ahead. Always we should remain vigilant and work together in our quest to be resilient, self sustaining and prepared.
