Horror in the Bunker

Horror in the Bunker
Host: Jacqueline Druga “Apocalypse Nana

Bunker 01-doomsday-bunkersThe flash occurs followed by a timpani boom, a nuclear explosion rocks your city, that is one scenario. Or Alien invasion, forcing you into hiding. Any type of scenario that places you into a locked down, hunker room with family, friends or both, is bound to cause problems. Whether you are a master prepper or build an expedited shelter. Things will and can go awry.

The heat will be unbearable at times, so will the cold. Food will have to be rationed, and of course fear sets in. We won’t even Continue reading Horror in the Bunker

Do’s and don’ts in spreading the preparedness mindset!

Canada banff-national-park_9141_600x450The tides have turned!  If we look back about one year ago, it was a hard time to be a prepper.  Discussions of impending doom from various scenarios such as the Mayan calendar, Niburu, and a multitude of other world ending nonsense dominated the news, internet, and even the prepper community.  You couldn’t use the word prepper without someone adding the word doomsday in front of it…thanks to that now famous television show.
But now we have a whole new set of issues developing.  Floods in Alberta, wild fires in Quebec, throw in a few thwarted terrorist attacks, and we are now faced with the perfect opportunity to talk to our neighbors, family, friends and coworkers about being prepared.  I’ll give a few dos and don’ts to consider when you decide (and you should decide) to start spreading the preparedness mindset.
After all that, I’ll talk a little bit about the Emergencies Act and look at the recent RCPM gun confiscations during the Alberta floods.

GMO’s the wolf in sheep’s clothing deluge our cupboards and lives.

PP 2-17geri-carrotsHave we been unknowing guinea pigs for the past 18 or so years while our Government touts GMO’s as the answer? Are we in fact feeding ourselves Franken food? Despite promises of increased yields, drought resistance, cheaper food and enhanced nutrition none have yet to be met by the current glut of GMO products to date. Evidence compounds daily connecting GMO’s with health problems, environmental damage and farmers and consumer rights. Yet our Dept of Ag continues to promote and approve this Franken food assault to health.

Is there a way to be as the fabled Phoenix and rise out of the ashes of the GMO debacle, a way to claim back and insure a safe and nutritional food source? Join Lynna on The Other Side…A Preppers Path and her special guest biologist, science writer and speaker Geri Guidetti as they share info on how to take flight and insure and protect yourself, family, friends and more with non-hybrid and non-GMO seeds. Geri is the founder of  The Ark Institute and has devoted the past 15+ years to growing and preserving endangered food seeds and developing The Ark Institute as a resource for these disappearing varieties.

Dealing with trying times ahead on The Homestead Honey Hour!

On this show of the Homestead Honey Hour, Noreen will be taking the wheel and bringing on a heavy topic.  Have you been paying attention?  Our world is turning topsy turvy.  From turmoil in the middle east to trouble on the home front, we are facing trying times here in America and across the world.   You cannot deny that the global and domestic economy is moving like a listing ship.  With unemployment at an all time high, gas prices and food prices going sky high, we are facing what could be the most drastic economic outlook in history.  How are we going to deal with it?

As preppers and homesteaders, we feel like we are ready for anything.  But are we?  Are we mentally ready to face what we may see happening to our family friends and neighbors?  Lets take an hour to chat about the current climate.  Lets talk about the urgency that I know many people are feeling.  Lets share how we think we will deal with things.  Together we do anything, no matter how hard times may become.  Sharing our skills and abilities is important. Creating our own “colony” will be important to do in the time leading up to a prospective collapse.  How do we do that?  I am sure I don’t have all the answers, however together I am certain we can figure it out!
