The Social Network
James Walton “I Am Liberty ” Audio player below!
Are you concerned about social media? Do you wonder about your privacy on sites like Twitter and Facebook? It has been made painfully clear that these businesses aren’t afraid to silence those they disagree with and promote those they do not. On this show we explore the ever growing world of social media and how it has changed our lives. Also, we are going to look at what type of damage these large tech corps can do to our society if we let them off the leash. Read more “The Social Network!”

Cooking Alternatives Off Grid!
Host: Denob “The Prepared Canadian”
Over the last couple of years, I have had the chance to try a lot of different off grid cooking options. From home made solar ovens to open fire methods and everything in between, I found out a lot about what works and what doesn’t. Actually, almost everything I have tried, does have a use, but there is no one appliance or trick that will work for everything…at least not well. Read more “Cooking Alternatives Off Grid!”
Last week we had an in depth discussion of firearms selection and this week we talk about some alternatives for our friends in countries not as firearm friendly, those in the dreaded CA or NY or those who simply are not able to get access to a firearm or chose to go another way. Could you manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, or bi-polar disorder after a disaster?
You probably know someone close to you with one of the conditions listed above, because a significant percentage of Americans are on anti-psychotic prescriptions. These drugs are linked to dangerous side effects, like thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, and violent behavior.
Unfortunately, quitting cold turkey can be just as dangerous, causing depression to worsen and trigger a downward spiral, also including suicidal thoughts and physical symptoms of withdrawal. Many need to be reduced in a slow and deliberate manner to lessen the potential for such harm. Read more “Mental Health, When the Meds Run Out!”

As preppers, we are exposed to a lot of information over the internet about the great ideas that people have had. My advice is to try it before you have to rely on it. In fact, that is exactly what this week’s show is all about…trials and errors. This week, I will talk about different methods of alternative off grid cooking that I have had personal experience with, and only those that I have tried and tested myself. Modern medicine has some truly wondrous, life-saving procedures and medicines. It excels in it’s diagnostics techniques and heroic interventions. However, does the US really have a health care system? I say, emphatically, “no”.
Much of what we have is a “sick care” system, with a heavy dependence upon maintenance medications that do little more than maintain the current state of illness in an individual. People are then expected to take this or that pharmaceutical indefinitely, just masking the problem, and not solving the problem. If the condition worsens, the solution is to cut something, zap something, or chemically saturate something. Read more “Collapse-Resilient Health Care Plan!”
Cooking Without Power!
Host: Lynna “The Other Side… A Preppers Path”
Most of us are always looking for alternatives to the grid and resources that are inexpensive or free. There are all sorts of gadgets out there mixed in with some really inventive, efficient and renewable products and solutions.
Who hasn’t been sitting in a car, windows up, on a winter day and become overheated from the sun pouring in the window. It has always amazed me how much heat is generated from reflection of the sun’s rays alone. There really ought to be a way to harness this incredible free power source to benefit us all…. Yes I know the Solar Industry was born long ago, but until recently the real potential of this resource hasn’t really been touched. Read more “Cooking Without Power!”
Every prepper should be raising at least some of their own food. Be it for stockpiling now, or as a primary food source when at all goes down, the practice of feeding yourself just makes sense. But it isn’t as simple as stocking up on seeds and dropping them in the ground. Believe it or not, growing your own food takes a lot of thought and planning.
On this week’s episode of The Prepared Canadian I’ll discuss some of the things you should be considering for your home food production needs such as what characteristics to look for, sustainability of your product, and of course, making your food production storable.
I’ll have some tips for replacing hard to produce foods such as dairy, offer alternatives to some hard to come by items like citrus, and a two layered source of protein. Listen to this show in player below!

It’s been estimated that the modern family’s dependence on fossil fuels, is equivalent to having around 100 human slaves living in your basement. To replace the energy we use in our modern lives, those slaves would have to toil for us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
What would you do, if our energy sources suddenly disappeared? How would you cope, or even function? What could you do to perform those tasks that our technology does for us on a daily basis…Without oil, electricity, or gas?
This week, a “Derecho” (Straight line) wind storm knocked out electrical power to millions of people, right across the Eastern Seaboard. Some will be without power forup to a week, and right in the middle of a horrible heat wave!!! (How many people will die as a result of heat stroke?) Reports are already surfacing that grocery store shelves are emptying. Lines are forming around the block, from gasoline stations that do still have the power to run their pumps.
The Other Side of a Preppers Path show had herbalist Susan Weed on again sharing more great information on self help remedies and alternatives for prescription medicines. Susun shared her knowledge of herbs and their uses from daily infusions, to alternatives for prescription medicines, what herbs and plants nature has provided us to treat our ailments and stay healthy and vibrant. For some good information on topics discussed you may have not known listen to this show in player below.
