Hunting, Fishing, Trapping kits
Josh “The 7P’s of Survival”
This week we will discuss my favorite budget friendly items to build your own outdoor sportsmen’s kit. This kit is similar to my long-term self-reliance kit. I spoke about it a few months ago but it’s much more budget friendly, adaptable, basic and generally a good starting point if you want to try your hand at hunting/fishing/trapping. Worth a listen before spending thousands of dollars on a high end rifle, camouflage, a hunting lease, food plots, every fishing lure known to man and a room full of traps.
The kit will allow you to hunt any animal in North America. Trap to supplement your food supply while in hunting camp and also passively or actively fish. I utilized this minimalist type of kit a good bit during deer season. Nearly anytime I go into the woods I rarely do so with more than a haversack and the kit has served me well for several years. We will dig into the kits contents, my rational for their selection and their rough cost. I will then explore once you determine what outdoor venture you prefer to focus your time how to add more gear over the years.
The kit will include a 12 gauge single shot shotgun with various chamber adapters, snares, various foot and body traps, a variety of fishing gear, cutting tools (everyone knows I’m a sucker for a good blade!), basic camp setup, cooking setup, and other items.
Listen in to this show and find out the other items the kit will include and those recommended.
