The Herbal First Aid Kit Simplified
Cat Ellis “Herbal Prepper Live”
One of my listeners emailed me a question about first aid kits, and I thought it would make for a great show topic. Jerry wanted to know how to build an easy, affordable first aid kit with herbal and natural remedies. However, it also needed to be simple enough for someone just getting started learning how to make and use herbal remedies to assemble. Well Jerry, challenge accepted.
In this episode, I will show you how to create a super-simple first aid kit using just a handful of different herbal and natural ingredients to tackle 23 of the most common injuries and complaints. From poisoning to puncture wounds, from aches to asthma, this kit can handle it.
Here is the list of what this simple-to-assemble, simple-to-use herbal first aid kit can be used to help:
- Open wounds- from abrasions to punctures to lacerations
- Sprains and strains
- Eye infections and eye injuries
- Bug bites and venom
- Accidental poisoning
- Poison Ivy/Poison Oak
- Fungal infections of the skin
- Aches & pains
- Intestinal cramping
- Asthma attack
- Muscle spasms
- Sore throat
- Calming, anti-anxiety
- Protozoan/Parasitic infection
Please note: This doesn’t count your other, standard contents for a first aid kit, like gauze, tape, snips, assorted bandages, wraps, and the always handy, duct tape.
The items chosen were selected for their ability to relieve multiple complaints, as well as their ease of use. Most ingredients, if not all, should be somewhat familiar to everyone already. The skills needed to make the remedies are absolutely basic. If you don’t know them, they are easy to learn and are great first projects for the budding herbalist.
