Herbal Approach to Adrenal Fatigue

In this episode, we will cover steps to take, dietary considerations, and herbal approaches to reverse adrenal fatigue.
Imagine for a moment that you are exhausted all the time. Your legs feel like they have lead weights tied to your ankles. You feel weak. You have brain fog and never really feel awake. You cannot go up a flight of stairs without getting winded. You didn’t feel like this a few weeks ago, but now you can barely function. How did this happen?
If you recognize yourself in this situation, you may have adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue is a debilitating condition brought on by either a prolonged period of stress. It’s more than just burnout. It’s burnout that you can’t recover from after a weekend or a week’s vacation. Unfortunately, unless you have a good doctor, good luck getting a doctor to acknowledge this.
Chronic stress is the norm in our society and it has real, physiological effects. Our bodies did not develop to remain in “fight or flight” mode all the time. We were not intended to run on adrenaline. We did not evolve to function with an overabundance of cortisol coursing through us. The adrenal glands were not built to keep pumping out stress hormones to this degree.
However, there is no pill to prescribe. No money to be made. As soon as there is, adrenal fatigue will be considered a “real” condition. In the meantime, patients are misdiagnosed or remain undiagnosed and continue to suffer.
As preppers, we tend to keep informed of potential risks and disasters. We are steeped in stressful, difficult, and unnerving conversations and research on a daily basis. There is also have a tendency to push through just about anything, never stopping until the job is done.
Don’t you think we owe it to ourselves and everyone who is depending upon us, to learn how to recognize the signs before there is a problem? We also owe it to ourselves and everyone who is depending upon us to do whatever is necessary to do to recover in the shortest time possible.
