Prepping 101 In the beginning… or… How I scared the crap out of myself.

Prepping 101 In the beginningWhere to start and what to do when you come to realize that we really are not as secure and comfortable as we like to think we are.Once the shade is lifted and blinders taken off, there really is no way of going back.

My “awakening” if you will was brought on by a book many have probably read in the beginning as well. A friend of mine whom was already into the prepared life, army Continue reading Prepping 101 In the beginning… or

How to Find a Prepper Group in Your Area or Online!

How to Find a Prepper Group in Your Area or Online!

Prepper GroupPrepping is similar to “Fight Club” in that the main rule about prepping is “you don’t talk about your preps”. Talking about your preps to other people in your local area, like neighbors, cashiers, or co-workers can actually come back to bite you when SHTF. Those acquaintances may remember all your talking and show up to either beg for or steal your stockpile. Yet there are tons of prepper groups, locally and online that are springing up every day, so what’s the deal? Continue reading How to Find a Prepper Group in Your Area or Online!

Preparedness, Survivalist and Related Expos!

Preparedness, Survivalist and Related Expos!
Host: James Walton “I Am Liberty

ExposI think it’s time for a bit of a break from the world affairs. This week I stumbled upon a guest that I think has something to offer us that I haven’t presented on this show yet. PJ Graves of the The Prepper Flyer. He moves his flyers all over the country to different preparedness, survivalist and related expos. The next one upcoming will be may 31st Prescott AZ.

PJ has his finger on the pulse of this circuit and I want to talk to him about all the different expos he’s involved with and where we can go to not simply spend our money but to also meet with like-minded individuals. This is always a challenge and I hope to open some avenues for our listening audience with PJ’s help. Continue reading Preparedness, Survivalist and Related Expos!

What is a Prepper? & Heart Felt Loss for P.B. N.

Bexar profile People ask me all the time, what is a prepper? Are we what some people think preppers are? Those strange people you see on reality TV that give you the creeps or the homesteader you see at the farmers market. I guess there will always be some that meet that stereotype, but for most preppers we look more like the Wikipedia definition of a prepper “Prepper is an individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances.” Preppers just purchase more insurance to cover what each individual sees as likely probability to occur.

PrepperAs a prepper how can you find your place in the prepping community, find your niche of like minded people? Do you take the chance to open yourself to meeting other preppers or do you stay alone? Where can you find other like minded people? Once you make your connections do you go it alone or do you form a group? Which would give you greater survivability or greater flexibility? Join BexarPrepper for her final show “Preparing For Life’s Storms” Tuesday September 24th at 8 pm central time where we’ll talk about this a so much more.

From the producer: It is with great regret for the network and myself personally to see our host Bexar Prepper of Preparing For Life’s Storms leave the network. I have know doubts that I speak for anyone that knows Bexar that she will be missed dearly on Tuesday night’s. She has provided all of us with a wealth of information, great guests, and a whole lot of fun. It has been my greatest pleasure in working with Bexar and while saddened I still look forward to this broadcast. Fortunately we will still have the wonderful information she provides through her YouTube channel and if you are not a subscriber I encourage you to do so by going HERE! I hope that you will all join us in chat to listen, learn and give thanks for more than a years worth of hard work and effort Bexar has given to help us all on our road to self reliance and independence through this network.

Finding the right path through preparedness!

Canada 125Given that I am a huge proponent of spreading the word about preparedness, it stands to reason that every once in a while, my show will go back to basics. No, this isn’t a flashlight and spare batteries type of show, but one that will help you think for yourself.

Once you have that “Ah Ha” moment, many new preppers begin to panic. After all, your thirst for knowledge has brought you an overwhelming amount of new information. Websites galore telling you about the impending collapse of the economy, cosmic entities on collision courses, the police state you are now living in, and so on, and so on. All this can make you panic, and that is a natural reaction, but I hope to ease your fears, teach you how to get that fear under control, and then how to go about getting things started.

Crooked Preppers Path 400This week on The Prepared Canadian we will look at the 6 basic areas of preparedness, how to organize yourself and get you on the right path, and how to do it without feeling that it’s all too late and you might as well give up. I’ll go over how to get started in food storage, water storage and purification, how to get enough energy to run your most important electrical devices, some tips about security, a look into health and sanitation, and why shelter, although it needs to be addressed, can go a little further down on the list than most people think.

It’s all about layers folks, getting a bit of everything, then going back to the top of the list and improving what you have already done. Don’t forget, it’s not always about the black helicopters coming to take your children away to the FEMA death camps…it’s time to relax and think with a clear mind.

How not to get overwhelmed as a new prepper and why you shouldn’t!

timeisrunningout 3-19emptyshelves3-19As a seasoned prepper sometimes we forget just how we felt when we woke up.  With all the new prepper’s that are awakening, I’d like to take a step back in time on this episode of Preparing For Life’s Storms to guide those around us. Think back to when you first felt the tugging of something in the back of your mind leading you to do more research and eventually coming to the conclusion that you must become a prepper.  It may have been as blunt as a hurricane Sandy event, or possibly it was just little things here and there that eventually and gradually led you to where you are at today.  Regardless of the journey, I believe it to be important to remember your roots and by doing so you will be more armed to help other people to come in to the light of what is going on in the world around us and help them get more prepared. Remember how little good you were able to accomplish in the heat of the battle. Why is calm thoughtful prepping a better way to go, than the fill the shelves up fast mentality? What did you do to calm the nerves as you worried time was running out?

So join BexarPrepper Tonight March 19th at 8 pm central time as we talk about how to set your focus as a new prepper to hit the path running. Listen to this show in player below!
