A tornado can appear as a funnel shape, spinning through the air or may just appear as a dark cloud on the horizon. Tornadoes develop out of strong thunderstorms and can be devastating and even fatal. Rotating winds can get up to 300 mph and tornadoes path of damage can be more than a mile in width and as much as 50 miles in length. Read more “How to Prepare for a Tornado!”
For The Prepared Canadian hurricane season is on the horizon! Every year, Canada experiences the effects of several storms that many of us consider hurricanes. In fact, there are many terms used to describe these storms such as tropical cyclones, tropical storms, and extra tropical storms. This week, we will take a look at these different terms and what exactly they mean, as well as why extra tropical storms, sometimes referred to as “the remnants of” are still a danger to Canadians.
As well, we will go over the basic preps that you should always have on hand to be prepared for such storms, as well as some things you can do to be extra prepared when one is approaching. Of course, we will also look at it from the point of view of the lack of support systems that these storms can cause.
Coming up on The Preppers Poitin Hour, your host Chris, weather permitting will be asking a simple question. “WHEN will people ever learn?” This NOT a rhetorical question. So join us and let us look at why people who live in disaster prone areas and in uncertain economic times refuse to get a clue and be at least prepared on a token level. Keep in mind that since Chris lives in Sandy’s path, there MAY or may not be technical issues but we plan for the worst, hope for the best, and have a drink and let what will happen, happen. Check it out- Monday October 29 at 9pm EST on prepperbroadcasting.com. BTW, there’s a rumor that there might be a Halloween inspired commentary to start the show. Whatcha call a creepy prepper? A Preeper, bwahahahahaha! Slainte!
Lessons learned. Life throws emergencies and hiccups our way, like the week that we have had here in the Mid-Atlantic. So let us look at some lessons that I have learned since the onset of these storms and the subsequent damage. This airing of The Preppers Poitin Hour was about sharing experiences and lessons learned. Listen in player below!
