Cooking Without Power and Gunshot Wounds!

Cooking Without Power and Gunshot Wounds
Two important topics worth review!

Cooking all-american-sun-ovenWho hasn’t been sitting in a car, windows up, on a winter day and become overheated from the sun pouring in the window. It has always amazed me how much heat is generated from reflection of the sun’s rays alone. There really ought to be a way to harness this incredible free power source to benefit us all…. Yes I know the Solar Industry was born long ago, but until recently the real potential of this resource hasn’t really been touched. Continue reading Cooking Without Power and Gunshot Wounds!

Host: James Walton “I Am Liberty

Memorial Day & dark water aheadThere is so much to talk about. Whether it be my concerns, my crazy predictions or my feelings. Of course there are always the facts but what can we talk about on the doorstep of Memorial Day that will not be a regurgitation of something you’ve heard all week. Its important that I captivate your minds for the short period we spend together.

I would like to talk about war on the doorstep of Memorial Day. I would like to talk about energy and influence. Are you prepared for a world in which America is no longer number one and things simply won’t come as easy. Are you prepared to work for everything? Are you prepared for riots and terror across the land if government benefits go away? Continue reading Memorial Day & dark water ahead!

5 Acres and A Dream!

5 Acres and A Dream
Host: Renee “Homestead Honey Hour

5-12 5 Acres and A DreamModern day homesteaders seek out an agrarian lifestyle for a laundry list of reasons and come from a multitude of backgrounds. Within this growing segment of the population going “back to the land” are more than a few baby-boomers.

Beginning to homestead as a middle-aged person has its unique set of challenges, and joys. No one knows this better than Leigh Tate, who along with her husband Daniel, decided to begin homesteading as empty-nesters. At the age when most couples are looking to down-size and move into a low-maintenance condo allowing for more leisure activities, the Tates were looking for land, livestock, and a life that would require more of them physically, mentally, and at times, emotionally. The Healing Power of Honey!

The Healing Power of Honey
Host: Cat Ellis “Herbal Prepper Live

Healing DIYFireCiderWMHoney is truly ancient medicine. The first written reference to the medicinal use of honey is on a Sumerian tablet over 4000 years ago. Honey has been used medicinally ever since. Honey is useful for many conditions, including wounds, burns , and some of the toughest bacteria we may ever encounter. Plus, it does all of this for less than ten federal reserve notes!

I count myself very lucky that seven years ago my husband decided to keep bees. We always have raw, local honey and wax on hand for all of my herbal projects, and I can’t imagine being without it. Granted, our original interest when embarking upon beekeeping was in the homebrewing of a honey-based alcoholic beverage known as mead. Since then, however, the use of honey has become a major feature in my herbal practice. Continue reading The Healing Power of Honey!
